Team Building is an often used term and for many the tangible outcomes are unclear and there is often some uncertainty about the value in invest time in activities away from the workplace.
We take a different approach to developing high performing teams. Firstly, we will work with you to establish what outcomes you want for your team and department. This could be enhanced communication, effective use of the skill sets available, improved levels of trust, or deeper understanding of the teams contribution to the wider purpose. Of course, you may have your own outcomes and objectives and we will ensure that these are met.
Deconstructing Team Building
Using a range of techniques and activities, you will explore both what an effective team is and reflect on what is required to build something. As elements are uncovered, you will experience the consequences of either not having these elements or, indeed having a strength in these areas. The overiding outcome is the development of a common vision and understanding of how your team or department can work most effectively, whilst answering the key question for each individual:
What's In It For Me?
Purpose, Commitment and Growth
In addition to examining the team, you will explore what role your team and department plays in the wider purpose of the organisation. This is often confused with what the team does and energy is confined to commiting to the identified role, checking that this is done correctly, and adjusting how the role is carried out. This is what we call the compliance loop. We will help align your team to the wider purpose of the organisation in order to break the compliance loop and achieve high performance and growth.
Every high-performing team believes it exists for a compelling reason and that the world will be better for what it does. Its purpose is not the task or work it does but the benefit it delivers
